It has always been the children of this country that inspire me to the challenges of working in global educational partnerships. Children are children no matter where you find them. Their curiosity about the world, the willingness to learn, their joys and sadnesses so much on their faces, not hidden as we learn to do as adults. It is truly wonderful to be on campus again among the exuberance of the the children. It lifts the burden of the work with its challenges and disappointments. It is no wonder that Jesus gives such a sharp reprimand to those who prevent children from being children. It is a lesson to us as adults. What are the things in our lives and organizations with all their importances that keep children from their true selves.
On Sunday afternoon we spent the afternoon making mud block for an oven we are planning to make. And as the afternoon wore on and the work became more difficult we were joined by more and more children eager to stomp the mud into a cement of sorts, to haul water and carry it to the block form. What joy and what a mess. It was great. The entire afternoon was bathed in a setting sun blessing as we put the last mud into the form. Let the children come... to such belongs the kingdom
